I'm Adam Azevedo, the youngest son of Tony and Carol Azevedo. I was raised in the dairy business. After serving in the Army for three years I returned home and earned my Bachelors degree in business at Stanislaus State University. I then decided to join the family farm.
I am passionate about Organics and dairy farming. My mission is to produce a quality organic product on a scale large enough to make it affordable to the average consumer.
I believe in heard health, animal welfare, and good pasturing practices. I am constantly trying to improve the quality of life for my animals and, in the process, improve the quality of milk I produce. Over the years my father and I have discovered many different holistic cures for common heard ailments. We pride ourselves on holding fast to the organic philosophy: No pesticides, antibiotics or hormones. Through vigilance we have been very successful.
My dream is to one day soon, have a "Bovine Birthing Center" on my ranch. A place where my expectant mothers can be nurtured prior to giving birth. The special barn will have access to a private pasture, shared only by other expectant cows. We believe in keeping our calves with the mothers for several days after calving so, by creating the birthing center, we can have an environment that better serves that philosophy. Cow and calf can be together, protected, and clean. I believe that we can prevent most of the common calf ailments, like scours, just by controlling their environment.
In 2007 I worked with Chico State University to help them develop their Organic Program. My dad and I both believe that we have an obligation to share our knowledge and experience with people interested in organics.
